The tuition fees are 160,000-250,000 RUB depending on the field of study. The fee for Russian language courses and specialized subjects at the preparatory department starts from 150,000 RUB. The preparatory course fee includes assistance in admission to Russian universities and a program of introduction to Russian culture.
Admission Office
- Foreign citizens have the right to take entrance exams in the subjects for which they do not have the results of Unified State Exams (USE) in the year of admission and/or within the four years prior to the year of admission. The results of USE in Basic Mathematics are not taken into account.
- The university takes into account personal accomplishments such as a secondary vocational education certificate or a university degree certificate with honors, participation in sports competitions (Ready for Labor and Defense badge and categories), volunteering, participation in Olympiads, and science and creativity competitions.
- Rossotrudnichestvo allocates quotas (scholarships) for the admission of foreign citizens through its representative offices abroad. Citizens of the Republics of Belarus, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, and Tajikistan can apply for state-funded places at Russian universities on equal terms with Russian citizens.

KSU has well-developed research facilities:
- The engineering center with a high-performance machine tool fleet, where students solve real-world problems of industrial partners from mechanical engineering and other sectors.
- The youth research laboratory that was established in collaboration with the Ilizarov Center. It created unique modular implants that have become a scientific sensation on a global scale and enable high-tech surgeries.
- The agrobiology complex: 1,200 hectares of agricultural land, a botanical garden (26 hectares) with greenhouses, an experimental plot, and a training farm. KSU has the Center for Modern Plant Breeding (a member of the World-Class Scientific Center).
