Right Choice
I’ve devoted my entire life and career to Admiral Ushakov Maritime State University. I studied here, and here I continue to pass on my knowledge and experience to the next generation. Coincidentally, my initial choice of university was influenced by one important criterion: the salary of a recent graduate. Today, this is even more relevant. The average salaries of all top graduates from classical universities are several times (!) lower than what the market offers for navigators. I can speak from personal experience; I am a navigator myself, and I know what it’s like. High salaries are a good thing, but what I discovered was truly priceless: a broadened horizon and a virtually limitless field for development and self-fulfillment in high-precision and scientific fields.
Once, just before entering university, I was to choose between one of the top universities in Moscow and my alma mater. I have thanked God many times in my life for making the right choice. It’s also worth noting that my profession helped me see a significant part of the world. Not just the tourist or exhibition segment, but how people live their daily lives. That's worth its weight in gold.

Reasons to Be Proud
Admiral Ushakov Maritime State University has done a great deal for the development of the maritime industry. Our specialists are recognized at all levels. They regularly speak at the highest level of the industry—at the meetings of the International Maritime Organization (IMO), a working body of the UN. Your humble servant has had the opportunity to present his research findings at this level as well.
I also served as the coordinator of two IMO correspondent groups, which involved a significant number of countries.
But what makes me truly proud is the success of my students. When I see my students successfully mastering their profession and becoming experienced sailors, and when I see them flourishing, it means I've made a good choice in this world. It may sound pompous, but it’s true, and making things up would be wrong.
