So, what does participation in the competition give you? Why do around 6,000 students annually strive to take part in it?
The scholarship itself, amounting to 25,000 RUB per month, is definitely an important incentive. The scholarship is paid from the moment of announcing the winners till the end of Master’s studies but for at most 18 months for first-year students and at most six months for second-year Master’s students. To maintain scholarship holder status, you must pass exam sessions with good and excellent grades and submit your reports to the Foundation in due time.
For international students, participation in the competition is a chance to integrate into the dynamic community of Potanin scholarship holders, develop new horizontal relationships throughout Russia, boost soft skills, build an individual path of personal and professional development.
The Foundation scholarship holders are offered a wide range of opportunities to launch their projects thanks to participation in the Foundation School and Personal Philanthropy Practices and to develop soft skills through specialized courses. The participation fee is paid by the Foundation.
Despite strong competition, international students successfully complete all competition tasks on an equal footing with Russian students and become active social change leaders. In the academic year 2020/21 alone, the Foundation awarded scholarships to the citizens of Algeria, Armenia, Belarus, India, Colombia, Latvia.
