Saint Petersburg State University of Telecommunications is the oldest and best-known Russian university, the leader in training specialists for the communications and telecommunications industry. Fee-paying places

  1. Register in your personal account of SPbSUT applicant and fill in the application form
  2. Wait till the Applicant status is awarded
  3. Take exams on the set dates
  4. Find yourself in the competitive lists on the Admission Office website and pay your tuition fees
  5. Come to Russia

State-funded places

A year before applying, submit your application for participation in the competitive selection. For this purpose, you must:

  1. Register on the website of the Ministry of Science and Higher Education of the Russian Federation
  2. Fill in the application form
  3. Create a portfolio showcasing your personal achievements (award certificates give applicants extra points)
  4. Wait for an answer to your application

Start your preparation for entrance exams ahead of time

  • For admission to engineering programs, you must take exams in Russian language and Mathematics as well as Informatics or Physics, depending on the program
  • For admission to economics programs, you must take exams in Russian language, Mathematics, and Social Science
  • For admission to humanities programs, you must take exams in Russian language, History, Social Science, and, at your option – English language or Geography

SPbSUT graduate, Director General of the Regulatory Agency for Telecommunications of the Republic of Burundi (Agence de Régulation et de Controle des Télécommunications) since 2021. The agency is a governmental institution that ensures telecommunications surveillance in the entire territory of Burundi.

Samuel studied at SPbSUT in the period from 2010 to 2019. He completed his Specialist’s and PhD degrees.

Scholarship and financial support

  • To give an incentive to students for their excellence in studies, sports, social life, research, science and technology, creativity, experiments and innovations, the university holds a competition to award its personal scholarship – the Sall Samba Lampsar Scholarship
  • Students, admitted by referral from the Ministry of Science and Higher Education of Russia, get a scholarship regardless of their academic performance during the entire period of study

Accommodation and adaptation

  • All international students are sure to get accommodation in the SPbSUT dormitory
  • The university staff members provide visa and registration support as well as assistance in getting health insurance during the entire period of study
  • Students, who have completed the Russian language preparatory course, are provided with the opportunity to continue studying Russian as a foreign language in their first year of study. Also, Russian-speaking students organize speaking clubs to facilitate international students’ adaptation
