Programme presentation. The basic programme is delivered by the Department of Machine Science and is aimed at training Bachelors for various activities in machine building and information systems of production management. Education is delivered in the profiles “Machines and Equipment of Textile and Consumer Goods Industry”, “Elevators and Escalators” and “IT in Manufacture and Service of Technological Machines”. The Department has a multimedia computer classroom, laboratories of sewing and foot-wear machines, machines for weaving and knitting industry, machines for production of chemical fibres and spinning industry, laboratories of machine dynamics, elevators and handling machines. The laboratories are equipped with machine layouts and laboratory facilities. Modern educational technologies are used including master-classes, interactive learning and up-to-date software for automated design and development of technological processes of production. The students are placed for work experience to apply their practical skills.
Teaching staff. The teaching staff consists of two professors and 8 assistant professors. The teachers have obtained more than 100 certificates of authorship, ten patents for inventions and have published more than 12 monographs. Under the guidance of professors L. Mazin and A. Markovets, research is done into analysis and development of the components and mechanisms of machines, mathematical modelling of the dynamics of machine mechanisms, study of fast-rotating rotor companies of machines, etc.
Competitiveness of students. The average passing grade of applicants is rather high. Students are actively involved in research and make presentations at research conferences. The graduates’ qualification papers have repeatedly won prizes in the national contest.
