Awards and achievements. The program underwent state accreditation in 2020. In 2010, the federal scientific school "Living Systems" under the supervision of the RAS Academician A.G. Khramtsov and Professor I.A. Evdokimov (the academic staff of the departments of applied biotechnology and foods technologies and engineering) was awarded the Russian President grant НШ 2010.7510.4.
Teaching staff. Among 37 regular lecturers and dual jobholders are 11 Doctors of Sciences, Professors, 26 Candidates of Sciences, Associate Professors, including three visiting professors (Belarus, Slovenia, Tajikistan).
Facilities and resources. State-of-the-art devices for express analysis of composition and properties of food raw material, pilot plants for baro- and electro-membrane fractionation of food raw material. Students undertake internships at food industry enterprises, research laboratories, NCFU Biotechnology Engineering Center.
Research. The priority areas of basic research and applied R&D: development of physicochemical basics of production technology of lactose and its derivatives; improvement of sausage production technology using secondary milk raw material and next-generation food additives; development of methods of increasing the quality, safety and stabilization of properties of non-perishable meat products; development of technology of functional meat products, in particular, using adapted food additives.
Strategic partners. Sochi Meat Factory, Resurs Company Group, Sausage Academy, Stavropol Dairy Plant, Kazminsky Meat Factory, Cheeseberry, etc.
International projects and programs. NCFU implements cooperation programs with the University of Ljubljana (Slovenia), Belarus State University (Minsk), University of Milan, Free University of Bozen-Bolzano (Italy), Polytechnic Institute of Coimbra (Portugal), Laval University (Canada), etc.
Competitive advantages. Students have an opportunity to follow the continuing education path: Master's degree – PhD degree – doctoral degree, individual educational paths as part of academic mobility programs and scientific internships and study placements at leading Russian and foreign educational and research institutions and engineering centers.
Assistance and support for international students. Internationalization of the educational and research process is one of NCFU's top priorities and is a strategically important vector of university development. NCFU has the International Cooperation Department.
