Teaching staff. Training is provided by six Candidates of Sciences and two Doctors of Sciences. The teachers are designers currently employed at major advertising agencies, Russian and foreign companies. Most of them have academic degrees and titles, are members of the Union of Artists of Russia, the Union of Designers of Russia, laureates and diploma winners of creative contests and festivals.
Students are trained by editors and journalists, employees of TV channels, animation studios such as Smeshariki, White Ball, etc.
Teachers' creative works are a part of collections of leading Russian and foreign museums, galleries, and cultural centers such as the Russian Museum, the Constantine Palace, the State Historical Museum of Russia, the Blaues Haus in Fehrbellin, Hotel Resort Mark Brandenburg (Germany) as well as private collections of Germany, France, Spain, the USA, and Israel.
Facilities and resources. The university has classrooms and specialized classrooms with state-of-the-art equipment, computer classrooms with Macintosh computers, graphic tablets and LCD TVs, a video- and motion picture studio with chromakey and video production equipment, a typography workshop with a digital printing machine (for color printing of books and brochures) and a plotter (for large format color printing), a printmaking workshop with an etching press and a printing press, an art studio with a 3D printer for creating 3D models with subsequent design in real art objects, a creative design and composition workshop, painting and drawing classrooms with easels, plaster models and the props, lecture halls with a projector, a screen and speakers, a training aids department with a network-attached storage, and a museum with an exhibition of the institute's creative projects.
Strategic partners. As part of internships, work and study placements, and creative projects, the institute closely cooperates with district administrations of Saint Petersburg, cultural, creative, social institutions and organizations such as relevant committees of the Saint Petersburg Government, the Legislative Assembly of Saint Petersburg, etc.
Students undertake their work placement at cultural and educational institutions, museums, various advertising agencies in Saint Petersburg and Moscow.
As part of international exchange and master classes of design specialists, the institute cooperates with Saimaa University of Applied Sciences (Finland), Glyndwr University, John Leggott College (Great Britain), Free University of Bozen-Bolzano (Italy), Berlin University of Arts, the Estonian Academy of Arts, etc.
