Achievements and awards. The program underwent state accreditation in 2020 and international professional-public accreditation carried out by the National Centre for Public Accreditation in 2017 for six years. In 2019 the student and the postgraduate student won the UMNIK contest.
Teaching staff. The degree-granting department employs seven Doctors of Sciences and 19 Candidates of Sciences. The leading specialists – employers: the chief freelance geneticist of the Ministry of Healthcare, the chief geneticist for the North Caucasus Federal District, leading board certified doctors, heads of structural subdivisions of public health organizations, Excellent Workers of Public Health are engaged in the educational process.
Facilities and resources. The university has the following state-of-the-art devices: an automatic biochemical analyzer, a platelet aggregation analyzer, a hemocoagulometer, a spectrophotometer, MEKOS-TS3 hardware and software package, an automatic hematology analyzer, NanoEducator measuring device, a laser diffractometer for fast detection of red blood cell deformability, Ntegra Prima scanning probe microscope, etc.
Research. The scientific school "Neuroendocrine Adaptation Mechanisms;" promising research areas: clinical laboratory diagnostics, laboratory hemocytology, the use of laboratory diagnostics methods in evaluation of the person's adaptive capabilities under the influence of various factors, etc.
Education. State-of-the-art ICT, problem-based and split-level learning technologies are used.
Strategic partners. Belarusian State University, Penza State University, the Stavropol Territorial Clinical Oncology Dispensary, the Stavropol Territorial Clinical Cardiology Dispensary, the Regional Office of Forensic Medical Examination, the Stavropol Regional Center for the Prevention and Control of AIDS and Infectious Diseases.
Competitive advantages. The department has state-of-the-art novel equipment (learning and research laboratories of PCR analysis, enzyme immunoassay, genomics and proteomics studies) for more in-depth study of modern clinical and diagnostic laboratory research methods.
Graduates are in high demand at clinical diagnostic laboratories, research institutes, enterprises of various medical sectors and industries. The department has trained over 350 medical biochemists.
Assistance and support for foreign students and teachers. Internationalization of the educational and research process is one of NCFU's top priorities and is a strategically important vector of the university development. NCFU established the Department of International Cooperation.
