Achievements and awards. The program successfully underwent international external evaluation, which is confirmed by the corresponding certificate.
In 2015 the faculty underwent international external evaluation according to the standards and criteria established by the National Centre for Public Accreditation in accordance with ESG-ENQA.
Since 2012 the program has been recognized as the best educational program of Russia by the Guild of Experts in the Sphere of Professional Education and the National Centre for Public Accreditation.
Teaching staff. The faculty employs 29 Professors, 51 Associate Professors, 45 Assistants, 8 Assistant Professors including G. Makovetskaia, Honored Worker of Science of the RSFSR, Professor Emeritus of SamSMU, Professor (the founder of the academic and research school of pediatrics); F. Gilmiiarova, Honored Worker of Science of the RF, Professor; R. Galkin, Honored Doctor of the RF, a two-time laureate of the RF Government Award, Professor;
L. Mazur, Worker of Higher Education of the RF, Head of the Department of Hospital Pediatrics, Professor.
Facilities and resources. The departments are located in two academic buildings, at 23 clinical facilities, university clinics. There are 88 classrooms with state-of-the-art equipment and access to the electronic information educational environment.
Research. Over the past 5 years, the faculty members have published about 1,700 works including 1,500 articles (over 550 in the journals recommended by the State Commission for Academic Degrees and Titles of the Ministry of Science and Higher Education of the RF, over 220 in foreign journals). About 100 patents for inventions and utility patents have been obtained, over 60 theses have been defended, and over 50 grants have been awarded.
Education. The university has first-class pedagogical and scientific and practical schools.
The teachers widely use active and interactive teaching methods (hands-on workshops, simulation courses, role plays, problem-based learning technologies, case methods, etc.) combined with out-of-class work, etc.), classes in the multidisciplinary accreditation and simulation center.
Strategic partners. SamSMU is the coordinating institution of the Nizhnevolzhsky Research and Education Medical Cluster in the Volga Federal District. It cooperates with pediatric faculties of Saratov SMU named after V.I. Razumovsky, Bashkir SMU, Orenburg SMU, medicine institutes of Ogarev Mordovia State University and Penza State University.
International projects and programs. SamSMU is a member of the International Association for Medical Education in Europe implementing the Bologna process. It interacts with Goce Delcev University of Stip (Macedonia), Tashkent Medical Academy, and Vitebsk SMU.
Assistance and support for foreign students and teachers. The Department of International Relations carries out international scientific and educational activities of the university, implements joint international projects.
