Achievements. The program underwent external expert evaluation (the Guild of Experts in the Sphere of Professional Education and the National Centre for Public Accreditation) and was ranked among Best Educational Programs of Innovative Russia. The students were winners and diploma winners of scientific contests such as UMNIK, HealthNet, RosMolodezh, the youth forum of the Volga Federal District iVolga, holders of the RF President scholarship and the scholarship of the Head of Bashkortostan.
Teaching staff. The teachers are members of professional associations, editorial boards of medical journals, special academic and methodological commissions of the RF Ministry of Healthcare, dissertation councils, participants of international scientific programs, projects and conferences.
Facilities and resources. Students are trained at specialized institutions of Rospotrebnadzor including Ufa Research Institute of Occupational Health and Human Ecology, the Center for Hygiene and Epidemiology, etc.
Research is conducted as part of sectoral and regional programs of the RAS, the Academy of Sciences of Bashkortostan, Rospotrebnadzor in the field of scientific substantiation of minimization of public health risks in Russia; evaluation of reproductive function; peculiarities of children and adolescents' physical development, etc.
Education. About 50 departments train specialists in health protection to ensure the sanitary and epidemiological welfare of the public including surveillance in the sphere of consumer rights protection. There is a simulation center for acquisition of practical skills, which allows teachers to provide high-quality training for future specialists. Students have access to the ELS. Active and interactive teaching methods (computer simulations, business games and role plays, clinical case studies) are used.
Strategic partners. The Rospotrebnadzor institutions, Research Institute of Labor Medicine of the RAS, North-Western SMU, I.M. Sechenov First Moscow SMU.
International projects and programs. The teaching staff participates in the international project of the WHO Regional Office for Europe on the development of the Russian system of occupational health, safety and environment management, conducts joint research on evaluation of ore mining industry workers’ reproductive health with West Kazakhstan Marat Ospanov SMU (Aktobe).
Competitive advantages. Prospective specialists undertake educational internships and work placement at major medical institutions of Ufa and the republic, the Rospotrebnadzor institutions with state-of-the-art diagnostic, laboratory and therapeutic equipment.
Assistance and support for foreign students and teachers. The faculty enrolls citizens of the CIS countries, Tajikistan, Kazakhstan, Mongolia, etc.
