Awards and achievements of the educational program. The Agricultural Chemistry and Agricultural Soil Science educational program was recognized as the leader of agrarian education by the Guild of Experts in the Sphere of Professional Education within the project Best Educational Programs of Innovative Russia.

The university successfully implements the certified quality management system.

Teaching staff. The academic degree holders rate is 94%, the percentage of Doctors of Sciences is 35%. The faculty employs two Corresponding Members of the Russian Academy of Science, three holders of the title of Honored Workers of Science. The specialists with an experience in production, research and management, such as directors and heads, are also engaged in the educational process.

University partners within the educational program. The university interacts with agrarian universities and scientific organizations as part of cooperation agreements, internships, employment, and commercial organizations (the Miratorg Oryol agro-industrial holding, the Directorate of Federal Service for Veterinary and Phytosanitary Surveillance for the Oryol and Kursk Regions, the Avangard-Agro-Oryol holding, etc.)

Students’ and alumni’s achievements. Students of this program are awarded a laureate diploma of the all-Russian contest of talented young people’s achievements “National Treasure of Russia.” The faculty is proud of its alumni: N.Iu. Revin, Head of the Sosnovka agricultural company; Iu.V. Efremova, a chief agronomist at the Sosnovka agricultural company; V.A. Polovitskov, Head of the Department of State Seed Surveillance and Grain Quality; E.A. Oblozhkina, a state inspector of the Directorate of Federal Service for Veterinary and Phytosanitary Surveillance for the Oryol and Kursk Regions, and many others.

Facilities and resources. The facilities and resources of the faculty comply with the highest education standards mostly thanks to unique devices and equipment purchased with the funds of the grant of the Federal Contest of Russian universities’ innovative programs won by the university.

The faculty provides students with an opportunity to develop themselves in research work, in sports, in a creative and social life. Students are accommodated in a dormitory.

Opportunities for students. In order to better achieve mastery of educational courses, students undertake their internship at research institutions (the All-Russian Research Institute of Legumes and Groat Crops, the All-Russian Research Institute for Horticultural Plant Breeding, at the Shatilovo Agricultural Experiment Station), at the Directorate of Federal Service for Veterinary and Phytosanitary Surveillance, the State Commission of the Russian Federation for Selection Achievements Test and Protection, and abroad (in England, Germany, France, Poland, and other countries).

Student research work can be implemented at the Integration research and production center.

Employment prospects. Alumni hold responsible positions at the phytosanitary monitoring services, at the customs, at agricultural organizations and in peasant (farming) households, work as managers at major domestic and foreign firms, etc.
