Programme presentation. At present, the educational programme “Construction” is one of the in-demand specialties of higher school. The programme is implemented at the Faculty of Architecture and Construction of the University, which dominates in the sphere of training of engineers and scientists for the construction sector of the Republic of Dagestan and Russia as a whole. Graduates’ activities aim at design engineering, construction and operation of civil and industrial buildings.

The University has necessary material and technical resources in order to train in-demand specialists. It also has research laboratories, computer classrooms equipped with modern technologies and software.

Teaching staff. The teaching staff of the Faculty consists of qualified teachers including 8 Doctors and 20 Candidates of Sciences. Among them are six members of the Union of  Architects of the Russian Federation, two members of the Union ofPainters oftheRussian Federation, a corresponding member of the Russian Academy of Architecture and Construction Sciences. Many teachers have titles such as“Honoured Worker ofˇ Higher Education of the Russian Federation”, “Honoured Scientist of the Republic of Dagestan” and “Honoured Builder of the Republic of Dagestan”. Industrial specialists with extensive work experience in construction are also involved in training.

Competitiveness of students. Professional skills, fundamental theoretical education and practical training, creative approach towards task solution are the main characteristics of the Programme’s graduates.

In the course of education, students participate in current projects in the sphere of con-struction commissioned by enterprises of the Republic. Annually senior students take part in Olympiads and innovative competitions, held in Dagestan, other regions of Russia and abroad.

Interaction with employers. The Faculty maintains business connections with the leading building organizations and enterprises, financial and property companies, town and region administrations, administrative institutions of the Republic of Dagestan and the North Caucasus region. Students have work experience and pre-graduation practice and then get employment. As a rule around 80% of them work as leading specialists and managers of different building organizations and enterprises, managers of companies and administrative institutions of the Republic of Dagestan, South of Russia and some foreign countries.
