Accreditation. The program successfully underwent state accreditation in 2020. In 2017, the program underwent professional-public accreditation (the National Centre for Public Accreditation) for six years.

Awards and achievements. The Russian Government Award in Science and Technology. The Russian President grant НШ 2010.7510.4.

Teaching staff. Among 18 regular lecturers and dual jobholders at the degree-granting department of applied biotechnology and the specialized department of milk and dairy product technology are six Doctors of Sciences, Professors, 12 Candidates of Sciences,
Associate Professors, including one visiting foreign professor (Belarus).

Facilities and resources for research and education include state-of-the-art devices for express analysis of composition and properties, physicochemical, microbiological, optical, rheological methods used to study food and bioengineering systems.

Education. The educational program is supported with the corresponding classrooms, laboratories, equipment.

Research. The department’s research units are the interagency research laboratory of electro- and baromembrane technologies; the interdepartmental research and educational laboratory of experimental immunomorphology, immunopathology and immunobiotechnology (as part of NCFU Institute of Life Science), the research laboratory of nanobiotechnology and physics (as part NCFU Biotechnology Engineering Center). Research within this program is conducted as part of the scientific schools “Living Systems” (under the supervision of the RAS Academician A. Khramtsov and Professor I. Evdokimov), “Factor Variability of Morphofunctional Status and Biotechnological Aspects of Managing a Living System in Ontogenesis” (under the supervision of Professor, Academician of the Russian Academy of
Natural Sciences L. Timchenko).

Competitive advantages. Unique research equipment is used in the learning process. Students have an opportunity to follow individual learning paths as part of academic mobility programs.The university implements the science and education cooperation programs with Belarus State University (Minsk), Polytechnic Institute of Coimbra (Portugal), University of Ljubljana (Slovenia).

Strategic partners. The major employers are Stavropol Dairy Plant, the DMP grocery supplier, Stavropol Brewing Plant, Stavropol Biofactory, the Biocom pharmaceutical company.
