Achievements. The program successfully underwent state accreditation in 2020 and professional-public accreditation carried out by the Association of Classical Universities of Russia in 2017.The Crystal Compass National Award of the Russian Geographical Society. The grant from the Russian Federation President for the state support of leading scientific schools. The grants from the Russian Foundation for Basic Research. The Russian Federation President and Government scholarships (2014, 2015).

Teaching staff. The academic degree holders ratio is 90%. The teaching staff includes four Doctors of Sciences and over 20 Candidates of Sciences; three teachers hold the title of Honored Worker of Higher Professional Education of the Russian Federation. The representatives of the real sector of the economy are also engaged in the program delivery.

Facilities and resources. The Research and Education Center of Population and Territorial Planning, the Resource Center for Aerospace and Geoinformation Technologies, the Youth Innovation Center of Geoinformation Systems in Territorial and Cadastre Management TerraGIS, lecture halls equipped with multimedia, self-access centers, computer classrooms, etc.

Research. The promising research areas include the following: the transformation of population reproduction, displacement and lifestyle (including geoinformation monitoring of ethnic, demographic and migration processes). Research is conducted in the priority areas of regional and university development.

Education. Teachers use ICT, project methods of teaching, gaming and simulation technologies, distance learning technology, etc.

The Federal Service for State Registration, Cadastre and Cartography, the Ministry of Civil Engineering and Architecture, Faculty of Geography of Lomonosov Moscow State University, Moscow State University of Geodesy and Cartography, Stavropol Research Institute of Agriculture, Lucerne University of Applied Sciences and Arts (Switzerland), Central European University (Hungary), the Kartfond commercial company, the Center for Strategic Territorial Design, the SCANEX company, the leader in the field of satellite monitoring (Moscow).
