Awards and achievements. The program underwent state accreditation in 2020 and professional-public accreditation in 2015. It has been ranked among the best educational programs of innovative Russia since 2012. The teachers of the department published more than 600 works, in particular, in the leading Russian and foreign journals (Web of Science and Scopus), five patents of the Russian Federation, and two patents of the USA. The grants from the Russian Foundation for Basic Research, the Russian Science Foundation, the Ministry of Higher Education and Science of the Russian Federation, the Russian Federation President grants and scholarships.
Teaching staff. The academic degree holders ratio is 100%. The teaching staff includes seven Doctors of Sciences and 18 Candidates of Sciences. The Head of Department is a holder of the title of Honored Worker of Science and Technology of the Russian Federation and has been awarded the medal “For Valorous Labor.” There is a scientific school that works under the supervision of A. Aksenov. The leading Russian and foreign scientists and representatives of the real sector of the economy are engaged in the educational program delivery.
Research. The promising areas: new methodologies of selective synthesis (development of synthesis methods for new compounds with potentially useful properties including biologically active compounds for OLED technologies, etc.), research on modern organic and medical chemistry.
Strategic partners. Southern Federal University, the Faculty of Chemistry of Lomonosov Moscow State University, D. Mendeleev University of Chemical Technology of Russia, Peoples’ Friendship University of Russia, N. D. Zelinsky Institute of Organic Chemistry Russian Academy of Sciences, the Institute of Technical Chemistry of Ural Branch of the Russian Academy of Sciences, enterprises: the National Aerosol Cluster aluminum manufacturer, the Concern Energomera electronics manufacturer, the NPK ESKOM pharmaceutical company, Monocrystal, a leading supplier of sapphire.
International projects and programs. As part of international projects, the university cooperates with the following foreign universities: New Mexico Tech (USA), Kansas University (USA), the University of Illinois in Chicago (USA).
