Awards and achievements. The program underwent international professional-public accreditation carried out by the National Centre for Public Accreditation in 2017. The Russian Federation Government scholarships were awarded (2017). The department implemented the grants of the North Caucasian Youth Forum “Mashuk” (2016); the grants provided by the UMNIK Foundation for Assistance to Small Innovative Enterprises in Science and Technology (2016); the network Master's program with
Teaching staff. All teachers have academic degrees. The teaching staff includes three Doctors of Sciences and seven Candidates of Sciences; one teacher is a holder of the titles of Honored Worker of Science and Technology of the
Facilities and resources. The university has the Geological and Mineralogical Museum (research and education center), the environmental analysis laboratory, the industrial ecology and design laboratory, the Resource Center for Aerospace and Geoinformation Technologies, lecture halls equipped with multimedia, self-access centers, computer classrooms, etc.
Research. The promising research areas include the following: rational nature management in the system of regional environmental safety; landscape ecology and biodiversity; aerospace monitoring technologies for natural processes.
Education. The teachers use state-of-the-art educational technologies: multimedia lectures, case technologies, business games and role plays, the project method, round tables, etc.
Strategic partners. The institute maintains professional cooperation with the Southern Scientific Center of the Russian Academy of Sciences, A.N. Severtsov Institute of Ecology and Evolution of the Russian Academy of Sciences, Jordan University of Science and Technology, the Gazprom Transgaz Stavropol gas transportation company, the Directorate of the Federal Supervisory Natural Resources Management Service for the Stavropol Territory, the Ministry of Natural Resources and Environmental Protection of the Stavropol Territory, the North-Caucasian Administration for Hydrometeorology and Environmental Monitoring.
International projects and programs. NCFU and Jordan University of Science and Technology implement the joint research project "Restoration of the Territories, Contaminated with Industrial Waste, in the North Caucasus Recreation Areas."
Competitive advantages. The program underwent international professional-public accreditation. Students undertake long-term field internships. They have an opportunity to take a semester study placement at another Russian or foreign university. The best students can pursue their Master's and postgraduate degree.
