Accreditation. State accreditation. Professional-public accreditation.

Awards and achievements. Students get the Russian President and Russian Government Scholarships, win international hackathons, the All-Russian contest held by the Foundation for Assistance to Small Innovative Enterprises, the contests held by the Committee for Science and Higher Education of the Saint Petersburg Government, have honorary diplomas from the International Society of Automation ISA.

Teaching staff. The institute and department staff has many years’ experience in telecommunications. The department employs two Doctors of Engineering Sciences. The institute staff members have hundreds of research papers published in the leading industry-specific journals and conference proceedings.

Facilities and resources. The Department of Information and Communication Systems has research laboratories such as the laboratory of information transmission networks and systems and the laboratory of multimedia data processing fitted with state-of-the-art equipment.

Education. The department provides intensive training for specialist in data processing, means and systems of communications. Information protection issues are studied. Fundamental education is combined with students’ research and scientific and technological work.

Research. The promising research areas are antinoise coding, low-power wide-area networks (LPWAN), wireless network technology 5G/6G, IoT development, multimedia data processing. Researchers publish research papers, speak at research conferences, register
computer programs.

Competitive advantages. Students participate in research and development projects with the top Russian and foreign partner companies, which promotes deeper learning and makes it possible to engage them in the works done on request of Russian and foreign firms.

Employers and employment. Graduates can get a job at infocommunications and IT companies, including Huawei, the branch of Radio Research and Development Institute – Leningrad Radio Research and Development Institute , Inteltech, the Committee for Informatization and Communications of Saint Petersburg, Selectel, Laboratory of the Internet of Things, the Seven-Test Science and Technology Center, Gazpromneft-Nefteservis.
