Accreditation. The program successfully underwent state accreditation in 2020.

Achievements. The students pursuing the educational program participate in regional and all-Russian WorldSkills championships in the Web Design and Development competency.

Teaching staff. The academic degree holders ratio is 81%, 8% are Doctors of Sciences.

Facilities and resources. Lecture halls are equipped with technical aids such as a portable laptop, a projector, a magnetic markerboard. Training aids and topic-based presentations are used. Classrooms for practical classes are equipped with modern computers with internet access and required software, have access to the electronic information and educational environment of NCFU.

Education. The main principles of the educational process management are the use of modern teaching techniques and strategies, an individual approach to students; development of students’ competencies through project activities; a combination of offline learning with the independent study on the NCFU’s distance platform – https://el.ncfu.ru, giving consultations for students on the online platform (BigBlueButton – https://webinar.ncfu.ru/, and others), a combination of theoretical instruction with practical activities and internships at educational organizations.

Research. The research area is high-load databases, database tuning and data mining. The institute established the international laboratory of computer and mathematical modeling of non-linear processes in cooperation with RheinMain University of Applied
Sciences (Germany), the international laboratory of cyber-physical systems with the Dresden University of Technology, the international laboratory of cybersecurity in cooperation with L.N.Gumilyov Eurasian National University (Nur-Sultan, Kazakhstan).

Competitive advantages. Students pursuing the educational program participate in grants and projects at regional, Russian and international levels. The department holds the regular International Youth School “Trends in Information Technology Development” (YSIP) in
cooperation with the International Center for Computational Logic of the Dresden University of Technology.

Employers and employment. Possible positions are programmer (programming team leader), IT project manager, systems analyst.
