Achievements and awards. The teachers have CELTA certificates for teaching English (Cambridge Syndicate), successfully participate in international projects for foreign language teachers (Spanish and German languages). Since 2007 they have been actively participating in the international project on teaching British literature in Russian higher education institutions “Oxford-Russia Fund.”

Teaching staff. The educational program is actively implemented by the leading translators and coordinators of projects of oil-producing industry companies, employees of regional companies that provide interpreting, translation and consultation services in the field of international communication.

Facilities and resources. To improve language and translation skills, students of the department use electronic dictionaries such as ABBYY Lingvo, SDL Trados Multiterm/ Workbench and SDL Trados Studio. The department established the Fund of Modern British Literature (Small Oxford Library).

Research. The department staff analyzes humanitarian value of cross-cultural and inter-ethnic interaction in modern conditions as part of which the single linguocultural mediation concept has been developed as a basis for training of foreign language specialists.

Education. The classical traditions of foreign language teaching and innovative educational practices are intertwined in the modern linguistic program. The department trains competitive and sought-after specialists for the Khanty-Mansiysk Autonomous Area - Yugra and for Russia in general. Graduates are fluent in foreign languages and have professional competencies needed to succeed in their career.

Strategic partners. The department closely cooperates with PermNationalResearchPolytechnicUniversity, ChelyabinskStateUniversity, KostanayStatePedagogicalUniversity, University College South Denmark, and University of Barcelona.

International projects and programs. Students participate in academic exchange programs as part of student and teacher mobility projects with University of Barcelona (Spain) and University College South Denmark *.
