Awards and achievements. The students are winners and laureates of all-Russian and international conferences, nominees of IUT's intellectual elite. Active participants in the all-Russian Olympiad in the "Innovative Activity Management" discipline.
The students' most remarkable achievements: victories in the engineering and innovative project contest UMNIK in 2020, international engineering championship CASE-IN in the "Metallurgy" specialization, V All-Russian contest "Russia's TOP-100 Engineers" in the "Modeling (CAD)" specialization in 2018.
Second place at the regional stage of the professional skill contest "Praise the Man of Labor!" in the "Best CNC Turner" nomination.
Teaching staff. The educational process is carried out by two Professors, Doctors of Technical Sciences, 11 Associate Professors, Candidates of Engineering Sciences. Leading specialists of partner machine-building companies from the real sector of the economy are involved in teaching.
Facilities and resources. State-of-the-art software for CAD, CAM and CAE design (Siemens NX, Solidworks, Kompas 3D), numerically controlled engineering equipment, robotized flexible automated production complexes.
Research. The main areas of the Department's research activity: research of the processes of shaped surfaces formation during processing on machines with numerical control (CNC), cut layer deformation and loading of tool blades control, assessment of tool performance during non-stationary cutting on CNC machines, development of integrated diagnostic systems and control of processes on CNC machines, modeling of processes and adjustment of shaping modes.
Education. The technologies of critical thinking development, game and dialogue learning, as well as research technologies are used.
Strategic partners. Tyumenstalmost, GMS Neftemash, GMS Sibneftemash, Tyumen Experimental Factory of Geophysical Instrument Construction, GROM, Tyumenskie Motorostroiteli.
Competitive advantages. State-of-the-art computer technologies are used in the educational process, as well as additive technologies and systems of automated design. Teachers have yearly advanced training and retraining, are active participants in scientific activity of the Department and university, improving the innovative activity. All graduates get employed at major machine-building companies.
Assistance and support for international students and teachers. The university meets international students, offers them dormitory accommodation assistance, helps them solve daily life and social problems.
