The teachers win contests of the best basic research projects, win grants of the Russian Foundation for Basic Research (2019).

Teaching staff. The academic degree holders ratio is 62.5%, 90% carry out discipline-related research, academic and/or practical activities, 38.9% are heads or employees of sectoral organizations, 89.2% have more than five years’ work experience in the field of operation and maintenance, reconstruction and repair of aircraft and radioelectronic equipment of state and civil aircraft. Three Doctors of Engineering Sciences including two Honored Science Workers are engaged in the educational process.

Facilities and resources. The department has five research laboratories: the wind tunnel laboratory based on the wind tunnel, the laboratory of flight data collection and processing systems, the laboratory of on-board instrument sets, CPTs of on-board aircraft and radioelectronic equipment sets, real aviation technology.

Research. Research is conducted on current issues in design and operation of on-board equipment sets of aerial vehicles, in the field of engineering control systems and engineering diagnostics of on-board equipment, including conceptually novel processor systems and real-time complexes with metrology autosupport, in the field of advanced sensors and raw data devices.

Education. The teachers use state-of-the-art models and technologies based on the wide use of computer technology, audiovisual and other technical training aids, research and technology business games using CPTs and real-life aviation technology.

Strategic partners. The major partners are the Russian Aerospace Forces, the Aviaremont repair and maintenance service company.

International projects and programs. The university participates in the International Congress “Nonlinear Problems in Aviation and Aerospace” (ICNPAA).

Competitive advantages. Graduates have a high level of professional competence in operation and maintenance, reconstruction and repair of aircraft and radioelectronic equipment of state and civil aircraft, are in high demand in aerospace forces and at civil aviation airlines.
