Achievements and awards. The program successfully underwent state accreditation in 2018. Accumulated experience was successfully used in launching the Future Skills competency

“Radio Engineering of 5G and Next-Generation Networks” aimed at advanced training of personnel for radio-electronic enterprises.

Teaching staff. Training is provided by the renowned experts in radio engineering. All teachers have academic degrees: there are four Doctors of Engineering Sciences, ten Candidates of Engineering Sciences.

Facilities and resources. Classrooms with high technology standard measuring equipment from the world’s top manufacturers; specialized laboratories: radio receiving equipment, radar and radio navigation systems, radio control systems, digital devices; computer simulation classrooms with pre-installed specialized software.

Research. The promising research areas include: the tasks of deployment of the most advanced 5G communication network, radio channel communication of Internet of Things devices, adaptive cophasal arrays, selection of objects of interest on radar images, measurement of angular coordinates of low-level air objects. The scientific student society has developed a low-flying target simulator to be presented at St. Petersburg Technical Fair.

Education. Training is provided in Signal Transmission, Reception and Processing Systems and Devices major. The teachers use state-of-the-art educational technologies: visualization lectures, brainstorming, analysis of real-world problems from industrial partners; state-of-the-art equipment: measuring devices, functional signal generators, computing machines with specialized packages for simulation and computer-aided design of wireless devices.

Strategic partners. The top radio-electronic industry enterprises: Leninets, Radar mms, All-Russian Scientific Research Institute of Radio Equipment (VNIIRA), Radioavionica, etc.

International projects and programs. Teachers and students take an active part in international scientific and technical conferences, research competitions, and grant programs.

Competitive advantages. Graduates are in high demand in the labor market. The university boasts highly qualified teaching staff and unique equipment and maintains close ties with potential employers. Practical training facilities have been effectively developed.
