Accreditation. State accreditation.

Awards and achievements. Students are laureates of all-Russian and international performance contests such as Concours International du Mond-Dore “Les Etoiles Sancybérie” (France), the International Malanin Competition (Russia), the Intonation International
Contest (Israel), the All-Russian Student Spring, and others. The department organizes the traditional festival contest in musical performance “Spring Impromptu,” with the jury consisting of People’s Artists of the RF, laureates of international and all-Russian competitions, professors of conservatories in Russia, France, and Bulgaria. The festival contest became a part of the International Association of Festivals and Contests in 2021.

Teaching staff. Teachers are Honored Art Workers of the RF, Honored Culture Workers of the KhMAA-Yugra, Corresponding Members of the International Academy of Sciences of Pedagogical Education, members of the Petrovskaya Academy of Sciences and Arts. The
professional community members are engaged in teaching.

Facilities and resources. A musical laboratory with modern software and state-of-the-art equipment for classes in sound engineering as well as composing, recording and arranging music. Specialized classrooms with musical instruments for classes in instrumental
performance, conducting and singing. Concerts halls fitted with sound technology equipment for public performance.

Education. One of the distinguishing features of students’ activity – participation in performance contests at different levels – is regarded as a factor in improving the quality of their training. Students are immersed in creative, contest and concert life, participating in
creative teams such as the vocal and instrumental ensemble, NVSU choir, classical and pop vocal ensembles.

Research. Musical art in the context of modern education and cultural politics, music as an integral part of culture and education, musical education pedagogy: development problems and prospects, theory, methodology and practice of music and performing arts.

Competitive advantages. A combination of musical performance and teaching in professional training of students allows them to become all-round and sought-after specialists in the job market both in Russia and abroad. Students of the faculty undertake study placements at JAMK University of Applied Sciences, Finland, Jyväskylä as part of the academic mobility program.

Employers and employment. The university’s cooperation with educational and cultural institutions in the region creates the opportunities for students to gain employment and improve their professional skills in the context of the teaching and educational process.
