Accreditation. The program successfully underwent state accreditation in 2020 and international professional-public accreditation (the National Centre for Public Accreditation) in 2014.
Awards and achievements. The department teachers are among the organizers of the All-Russian Student Olympiad “I am a Professional” and the regional stage of the National Professional Skills Championship for People with Disabilities “Abilympics.” Students are winners and prize-winners of the annual scholarship competition held by the Vladimir Potanin Foundation, the Mashuk Youth Forum grant holders. The department has implemented the following projects: “Social Cohesion of the Society in the Context of the North-Caucasus Region Problems” (2012-2014); the Russian-American project “Student Internship Exchange for the Benefit of Children at Risk” (2015-2016); the Russian-American project “Prophylaxis
Bridges” (2017-2018), the RFBR grant “Social Entrepreneurship: Financing, Taxation, Sociocultural Effect” (2018-2021).
Teaching staff. The academic degree holders ratio is 94.52%. The teaching staff includes four Doctors of Sciences, 14 Candidates of Sciences, three employers’ representatives. Facilities and resources. The university has state-of-the-art facilities and resources and
an excellent learning environment for all student categories. Classrooms are equipped according to up-to-date requirements.
Education aims to improve the effectiveness and quality of training specialists who are competitive in the job market and ready for continuing professional development and social and professional mobility. Teachers use state-of-the-art educational models and technologies
such as problem-based learning, interactive learning, project activity. For students with disabilities, adaptive technologies and learning process management models are used.
Research. The department staff develops the following promising research areas: student-centered models in education, modernization of general, continuing and professional education, preserving and strengthening the family status in the context of modernization
of Russian education.
Competitive advantages. Every year students take part in scientific events at different levels. A high level of professional competence allows students to participate in and win the university contest “Teacher of the Year” and various all-Russian scholarship and grant
competitions.
Employers and employment. Educational internship and work placement opportunities are actively used as part of prospective specialist employment promotion. The university establishes business contacts with institutions and agencies seeking psychology and
pedagogy specialists, concludes agreements for cooperation and work placements to provide senior students, Master students with the opportunities to prove themselves and gain a foothold in their workplace with subsequent combining of university studies and work.
