Accreditation. State accreditation. International accreditation carried out by the Independent Agency for Accreditation and Rating IAAR according to the standards of the World Federation for Medical Education –WFME.
Teaching staff. The educational program is delivered by 97 Doctors of Sciences, 271 Candidates of Sciences, including an Academician of the RAS, a Professors of the RAS, Honored Science Workers of the RF, Honored Workers of Higher Education of the RF, Honored Doctors of the RF, laureates of the Russian National Award and the Russian Government Award as well as the teachers who are current heads of relevant agencies and organizations.
Facilities and resources. Future specialist’s competencies are developed during practice-oriented classes in six educational buildings, the university clinics, at the practical training facilities at healthcare institutions, Rospotrebnadzor agencies and organizations in the Samara Region as well as the educational and research laboratory of molecular biology, the scientific and educational practical center, and the federal accreditation center of SamSMU.
Education. The Institute’s mission is to solve innovative, educational and scientific tasks in providing competitive personnel of the international system of preventive healthcare. The educational program is based on the vertical integration of basic, clinical and preventive medicine disciplines, development of an individual learning path, including the use of active and interactive teaching methods, simulation technologies as well as collaboration with the Breakthrough Research Center, the research and production technology park, and training at the university’s educational and research laboratory.
Research. The SamSMU academic schools develop graduates’ professional skills for solving necessary research tasks. The Institute of Preventive Medicine provides training for PhD students in five specialties, including hygiene, public health and healthcare as well as occupational medicine and epidemiology. The graduates of the Institute of Preventive Medicine are sought after by the authorities and organizations of Rospotrebnadzor (Russian Federal Service for Surveillance on Consumer Rights Protection and Human Wellbeing) as well as medical organizations, research institutes and laboratories as physicians specializing in general hygiene, epidemiology, clinical laboratory diagnostics, bacteriology, virology, and in other professions.
