Awards and achievements. The program has been ranked among the best educational programs of innovative Russia since 2011. In 2020, the academic staff co-authored the national guideline General Medical Practice, the clinical practice guideline Community-acquired Pneumonia in Children, the clinical guidelines Tuberculosis in Children, in 2018 and 2021 – the national program “Vitamin D Deficiency in Children and Adolescents in the Russian Federation: Modern Approaches to Correction.” Among the faculty students are the holders of the Russian President scholarships and the Russian Government scholarships as well students who scored 100 points in the Unified State Exams and the winners of all-Russian Olympiads.
Teaching staff. Training is provided by 65 teachers, including two Corresponding Members of the RAS, one Honored Science Worker of the RF, three Honored Workers of Higher Education of the RF. Over 70% hold an academic degree, and 25% of them are Doctors of Sciences. The teachers have state awards, certificates of appreciation and letters of acknowledgment from various ministries and government agencies.
Facilities and resources. The multidisciplinary accreditation and simulation center, the digital learning environment.
Education. State-of-the-art educational technologies, including the point rating system, simulation technologies, digitalization of the educational process. The interdisciplinary cross-cutting modular path—professional communication and communicative technologies, continuing professional education programs—Physician Researcher; Cell Technology Operator; Physician Manager; Palliative Care in Pediatrics; Molecular Nutrition. Development of professional and supra-professional competencies while studying at specialized departments, taking part in research conferences and competitions, Olympiads, UMNIK and START grant programs. Practice-oriented training. The educational programs delivered jointly with foreign universities. Student internships at foreign clinics as part of the IFMSA program.
The university has created an environment for developing digital, interdisciplinary and supra-professional competencies.
Research. Personalized medicine with the development of methods of prevention, treatment, prognosis of outcomes of pathological conditions and childhood diseases, pediatric nutrition science, regenerative medicine, pediatric cardiology, phthisiopediatrics.
Competitive advantages. Students undertake internships at multidisciplinary medical and preventive treatment institutions with the modern medical infrastructure, high-technology diagnostic and therapeutic equipment. The strategic partners are medical universities of the Ural Research and Education Medical Cluster, the BONUM Research and Practical Medical Center, the Ural Biomedical Cluster.
Employers and employment. Over 97% of graduates get employed every year. The university’s cooperation with medical and preventive treatment institutions in Yekaterinburg and the Sverdlovsk Region opens up the opportunities for students to find a job in their degree field and improve their professional pediatrician competencies in the workplace.
