Accreditation. State accreditation. Awards and achievements. Among students and PhD students of the faculty are holders of scholarships of the RF President and the RF Government, the Sverdlovsk Region Government, participants of research grant projects as part of the UMNIK, START and RFBR programs. Among graduates are many well-known scientists, public figures, heads of public health authorities and the sanitary and epidemiological service. Teaching staff. The program is delivered by 128 specialists. The academic degree holders ratio is over 70%, and more than 15% of teachers hold an academic degree of Doctor of Sciences. Many teachers receive state awards, the Sverdlovsk Region Government awards, certificates of appreciation and letters of acknowledgment from ministries and government agencies for their professional achievements. Facilities and resources. Students do practical training at the Rospotrebnadzor organizations and study fundamental professional technologies, procedures and analytical programs. Both laboratory resources and sanitary service departments’ resources are used for training.
Education. The educational process focuses as much as possible on the acquisition of practical skills. Project and research teaching methods are actively used, team and group work is introduced. Full-time studies are combined with the participation in Olympiads, contests and conferences. Individual learning paths are implemented.
Research. The faculty boasts scientific schools in the fields of Hygiene, Epidemiology, Public Health and Healthcare, Microbiology and Virology. Research is conducted in partnership with hygienic research institutes, public health authorities, and sanitary and epidemiological service authorities. The research findings help identify the causes of communicable and mass non-communicable diseases, substantiate measures to promote population health, and improve the quality of medical education.
Competitive advantages. Students undertake internships at federal medical research institutes, Yekaterinburg’s Medical Scientific Center for Preventive Healthcare and Health Protection of Industrial Workers, clinical hospitals in Yekaterinburg, centers for preventive healthcare, prevention of communicable diseases, health centers. The university actively develops the continuing medical and pharmaceutical education and delivers continuing education programs.
Employers and employment. All faculty graduates are employed. The major employers are the Federal Service for Surveillance on Consumer Rights Protection and Human Wellbeing, the centers for hygiene and epidemiology, the Federal Medical and Biological Agency, antiplague institutions, research institutions, medical prevention healthcare organizations, health centers, medical and preventive treatment institutions.
