ADMISSION CAMPAIGN
Saratov University offers a wide range of majors. Engineering and technology specialists are trained at the Institute of Physics, the Faculty of Mechanics and Mathematics, and the Faculty of Computer Science and Information Technology.
Foreign citizens have the opportunity to apply to the university within the Russian Government quota. Every year Saratov University allocates more than 100 places to foreign citizens who want to study at the university within the quota.
While studying, international students have the right to work in their study-free time if they are officially employed.
Applicants of the SSU preparatory department have access to a great number of study programs depending on their needs—from summer schools lasting three weeks to complete courses necessary for admission to degree programs.
One-year programs (September-August) enjoy the greatest popularity.
Attendees of SSU courses are integrated into student life—they go on city tours designed for foreign citizens, participate in student activities, use a library and a sports center at SSU.

I came from Ghana to Russia more than 10 years ago. I chose Saratov University to study Russian at once. In my home country, I earned a Bachelor’s degree and wanted to earn a Master’s degree in Ecology. I had no problems with learning Russian, and in less than no time I achieved a level that allowed me to apply for a Master’s degree and fulfill my dream. After earning my first degree, I decided that I needed to develop towards international law as well, so I embarked on a Master’s degree at Saratov University once again. While studying, I was so inspired by Russian culture that I was resolved to get Russian citizenship. Now I have a residence permit and I am looking forward to applying for a passport. I have a job and a family here, and I am very happy that I made up my mind to come to study in Russia. Now I have two motherlands – Ghana, where I started my journey, and Russia, where I matured and grew up.
