Awards and achievements. The departments teachers have taken part in writing the National Guidelines on all dental specialties, 13 basic textbooks, more than six monographs and dozens of study guides. The faculty staff members are frequently awarded medals of the Archimedes International Exhibition of Inventions and Innovations for their inventions. The program successfully underwent professional-public accreditation in 2021.
Teaching staff. Training is provided at 30 theoretical and clinical departments. The departments employ more than 183 teachers, including Candidates of Sciences (58.8%) and Doctors of Sciences (17.5%). The teaching staff includes Corresponding Members of the Russian Academy of Sciences, Distinguished Doctors of the RF, Honored Science Workers of the RF, and Honored Workers of Higher Education of the RF.
Facilities and resources. Classrooms are fitted with state-of-the-art equipment and technical teaching aids. Individual study rooms have computers with internet access and access to the electronic information educational environment of the university. Students with disabilities are provided with printed and (or) e-learning resources adapted to their disabilities. The clinical facilities are the university clinic, the maxillofacial surgery department of the emergency care hospital, the Regional Children’s Clinical Hospital, Tver Regional Clinical Oncological Dispensary, city dental outpatient clinics, and other medical organizations in the city. Simulation training is provided at the interdisciplinary accreditation simulation center. There are electronic library systems such as Student’s Consultant, Doctor’s Consultant, and eLIBRARY.ru.
Education. The mode of study is full-time. The course of study lasts six years. Students pursue full-time studies, and there are different distance learning options. The educational process involves using information technologies, gaming methods of teaching, the point-rating system. While studying, students not only gain general professional knowledge, but also pursue science, public activities, sports, and art. The student associations, the Council of Young Researchers, the Office of Pedagogical Work, and the cultural center help young people develop into a many-sided personality.
Research. Development of tooth-preserving methods of nanotechnology-based dental treatment. Integral estimation of dental health and dental care for medical university students. Epidemiology of dentofacial anomalies as a tool for rational planning of orthodontal care for the region’s child population. Comparative assessment of methods for determining the effectiveness local anesthesia in dentistry.
Employers and employment. The program was highly valued by employers and recognized as compliant with the professional standards and the job market requirements for specialists in the relevant field. The faculty graduates have ample employment opportunities. After they successfully pass primary accreditation of specialists, the doors of all dental medical institutions and research institutes are open to them. Graduates pursue residency and PhD programs.
