Awards and achievements. The program successfully underwent state accreditation in 2019 and professional-public accreditation in 2021.
Teaching staff. Training is provided by more than 300 teachers, including almost 200 Candidates and 50 Doctors of Medical Sciences, three Honored Science Workers of the RF, 11 Honored Doctors of the RF, two Corresponding Members of the Russian Academy of Medical Sciences. The scientific school of Professor A.F. Vinogradov – the founder of the faculty – is well-known far outside the Tver Region. Many teachers at the faculty work in practical healthcare, are chief external experts of the Ministry of Health of the Tver Region.
Facilities and resources. Classrooms are fitted with state-of-the-art equipment and technical teaching aids. Individual study rooms have computers with internet access and access to the electronic information educational environment of the university. Students with disabilities are provided with printed and (or) e-learning resources adapted to their disabilities. The clinical facilities are the university clinic, the maxillofacial surgery department of the emergency care hospital, the Regional Children’s Clinical Hospital, Tver Regional Clinical Oncological Dispensary, city dental outpatient clinics, and other medical organizations in the city. Simulation training is provided at the interdisciplinary accreditation simulation center. There are electronic library systems such as Student’s Consultant, Doctor’s Consultant, and eLIBRARY.ru.
Education. The mode of study is full-time. The course of study lasts six years. Students pursue full-time studies, and there are different distance learning options. The educational process involves using information technologies, gaming methods of teaching, the point-rating system. While studying, students not only gain general professional knowledge, but also pursue science, public activities, sports, and art. The student associations, the Council of Young Researchers, the Office of Pedagogical Work, and the cultural center help young people develop into a many-sided personality. With their level of theoretical and practical competence, graduates of the Faculty of Pediatrics are in demand at the top clinics in Tver and the region as well as in other regions and abroad.
Research. Students read professional literature, study the achievements of Russian and foreign science and technology, prepare scientific abstracts (literature reviews), participate in research, collect, process, analyze and arrange scientific data on the subject, draw up reports on the subject, prepare reports and speak at conferences, prepare for the publication of research papers (articles, talk abstracts), and do research internships.
Employers and employment. The program was highly valued by employers and recognized as compliant with the professional standards and the job market requirements for specialists in the relevant field. Graduates of the Faculty of Pediatrics have ample employment opportunities. After they successfully pass primary accreditation of specialists, the doors of any medical institutions and research institutes are open to them. Graduates pursue residency and PhD programs. After completing a residency program, they can either become pediatricians or neonatologists or pursue a subspeciality, in particular, in various fields of therapy and surgery.
