Accreditation. State accreditation. International accreditation carried out by the Independent Agency for Accreditation and Rating IAAR according to the standards of the World Federation for Medical Education – WFME.
Awards and achievements. Since 2012 this educational program has been recognized as the best program by the Guild of Experts in the Sphere of Professional Education and the National Center for Public Accreditation.
Teaching staff includes 32 Professors, 54 Associate Professors, 47 Assistants, eight Assistant Professors, including G. Makovetskaia, Honored Worker of Science of the RSFSR, Professor Emeritus of SamSMU, Professor (the founder of the academic and research school of pediatrics); F. Gilmiiarova, Honored Worker of Science of the RF, Professor; R. Galkin, Honored Doctor of the RF, a two-time laureate of the RF Government Award, Professor; L. Mazur, Worker of Higher Education of the RF, Head of the Department of Hospital Pediatrics, Professor.
Facilities and resources. The departments are located in two academic buildings, at the university clinics, 23 clinical facilities. State-of-the-art simulation technologies are used at the federal accreditation center.
Education. The university has first-class pedagogical and scientific and practical schools. Teachers widely use active and interactive teaching methods (hands-on workshops, simulation courses, role plays, problem-based learning technologies, case methods, etc.) combined with out-of-class work. Applied IT competencies in medicine are developed.
Research. Neurosciences and neurointerfaces, biochemistry, all fields of pediatrics and pediatric surgery, infectious diseases. The university has the active dissertation council for pediatrics, obstetrics and gynecology.
Competitive advantages. High demand for the educational program, participation in the Strategic Academic Leadership Program, highly qualified teaching staff, highly skilled students, modern facilities and resources, four leading academic schools of pediatrics, physiology, biochemistry, neurology and neurosurgery, close cooperation with employers. The program underwent international accreditation in 2022.
Employers and employment. Education and practical training are provided at the clinical facilities at the leading medical organizations in Samara: V. D. Seredavin Samara State Clinical Hospital, N.N. Ivanova Samara Region Children’s Clinical Hospital, Samara Region Children’s Infectious Diseases Hospital, and others, which helps students choose their major and subsequently find a job more easily.
