Best Educational Programs: PSYCHOLOGICAL AND PEDAGOGICAL EDUCATION

Awards and achievements of the educational program. This educational program underwent state accreditation and many times was listed in the Best Educational Programs of Innovative Russia. The State University of Humanities and Social Studies is included in the list “The Best Universities of Russia” and in the national list “The Leading Educational Institutions of Russia.”

Teaching staff. The program is delivered by highly qualified educators; 100% of the facul­ty staff are holders of academic degrees, including five Doctors of Sciences, three of them have the academic title of Professor, and 27 Candidates of Sciences having the academic title of Associate Professor. The numerous achievements of the teaching staff include the award of the international contest for the best scholarly book in the humanities in 2014 (Spiritual and Moral Education: from Theory to Practice. Spiritual and Moral Education: Educational and Intellectual Potential). The faculty features two scientific schools.

The psychodiagnostic questionnaire “Drugs Risk” developed by the faculty is implemented by educational organizations. The faculty regularly holds research conferences and seminars, publishes monographs, textbooks and scientific papers.

University partners within the educational program. The Institute of Psychology of the RussianAcademy of Sciences, the Psychological Institute of the RussianAcademy of Education, the HerzenState Pedagogical University of Russia, the Sociology Institute of the NationalAcademy of Sciences of Belarus, YerevanStateUniversity, the Faculty of Psychology of St. Cyril and St. Methodius University of VelikoTarnovo. The university maintains an active cooperation with educational organizations of the Moscow Region. The students do their teaching practice at Secondary Schools No.4 and No.18 of Kolomna.

Students’ and alumni’s achievements. The graduates are readily employed by medical organizations, the Services of Social Protection of the Population, HR-departments

of enterprises, offices of the Ministry of Emergency Situations and the Ministry of Internal Affairs, the youth liaison service, preschool and secondary education institutions. Among the faculty’s alumni are two Candidates of Psychological Sciences, and two holders of the award of the Governor of the Moscow Region (2014, 2016). Many times the faculty’s students became the winners of international olympiads in psychology and pedagogy.

Facilities and resources. The university has all resources for the effective organization of the educational process and recreational activities for students.

Opportunities for students. During their study course students have several of their practical training sessions at different internship placements and at the partner universities. In the framework of academic mobility students can take study courses in Belarus, China, the USA, Germany, and Bulgaria. Before the study placement students may take a necessary language course at the university.

Employment prospects. Educational psychologist, psychologist, consulting psychologist, social teacher.
