Achievements and awards. The university was the first among private HEIs in Russia to undergo professional-public international accreditation, and its educational programs were certified as compliant with the Standards and Guidelines for Quality Assurance in the European Higher Education Area (ESG-ENQA).

Teaching staff. Bachelor students are trained in the Applied Informatics in Economics major by the teaching staff of the department including Doctors of Sciences (12%) and Candidates of Sciences (84%). Representatives of specialized partner organizations are also engaged in the educational process. In cooperation with students as part of course papers and graduation theses, the teachers of the department develop training systems with simulation components for studying basic algorithms of data processing, operation system performance and software development which are further used in the educational process. The teachers regularly participate in scientific and practical conferences.

Facilities and resources. The university has state-of-the-art computer technologies and state-of-the-art licensed software: the MS Windows operating system, the MS Office 2013 package, the MS SQL Server database management system, the 1С: Enterprise 8.2 management system, the ARIS business process management simulation system, the educational programs from Autocad. The university library has all necessary collections.

Research. The main research area of the department is e-learning issues.

Education. The main disciplines are mathematics, structured and object-based programming (Lazarus, Java, С#), local and distributed databases, computer systems and networks, information systems and technologies, economics, banking and finance, accounting and statistics, management and marketing, taxation, information systems engineering, use and administration of domain-specific information systems of the 1С: Enterprise class.

Students undertake their work placement and pre-graduation internship at the premises of leading IT enterprises of the Republic of Tatarstan.

Strategic partners. The university cooperates with ICL –KME CS (Kazan Manufacturing Enterprise of Computer Systems), 1С – Intelcom.

Competitive advantages. The teaching staff is highly qualified. The university established the CiscoNetworkingAcademy in 2012. Students take an additional training course in the field of network technologies according to the internationally recognized program and obtain an international certificate.
