Teaching staff. Bachelor students are trained in the Computing Machines, Complexes, Systems and Networks major. Training is provided by the highly qualified teaching staff including two Professors, seven Associate Professors, four Assistant Professors, one Assistant. Two teachers of the department have certificates of CCNP-instructor.

Facilities and resources. The department laboratories have state-of-the-art equipment, PCs (over 130 pieces). There are new laboratories: "Operating Systems and Programming Technologies" and "Network Technologies." All the laboratories are integrated into the local network of the department connected to the corporate university network and the internet. Students have free access to PCs.

Research. The main research areas include the following: development of fault-tolerant control microsystems; parallel high-performance computing systems; information security issues; networks and network technologies; probabilistic models of computing systems, complexes and networks.

Education. Students attend classes in specialized lecture halls with projection, audio and video equipment. Laboratory work is done in university laboratories and computer classrooms. Training is provided and acquired skills are consolidated using programmatic simulators and real equipment.

Strategic partners. The department cooperates with HSE Tikhonov Moscow Institute of Electronics and Mathematics, National Research University Higher School of Economics. The CiscoAcademy is established within the university.

To provide high-quality training, the university cooperates with organizations such as the Main Computer Center of the Russian Railways company, Research and Design Institute for Information Technology, Signaling and Telecommunications in Railway Transportation (NIIAS JSC), the Moscow Center of SPARC-technologies, the Informzaschita (Information Protection) company, Central Research Institute of Aerospace Defense Forces of the Ministry of Defense of the Russian Federation (Moscow), Almaz-Antey Aerospace Defense Concern, etc.

Competitive advantages.  During their studies students can obtain an additional academic CCNA and CCNP certificate as part of the CiscoAcademy’s training program. Internships are undertaken at partner organizations or as part of the training program for employer-sponsored students. Giving an assignment for a Bachelor’s thesis, teachers take into consideration individual preferences and possible employment opportunities at a partner organization.
