Achievements and awards. The educational program "Applied Informatics in Economics" annually participates in the Moscow International Exhibition “Education and Career.”

Teaching staff. The teaching staff include Doctors of Sciences (19%), Candidates of Sciences (56%). Over 10% of them are heads and employees of organizations whose activities are related to the educational program being implemented: the FederalResearchCenter "Computer Science and Control" of RussianAcademy of Sciences and its Institute for Systems Analysis. Practitioners from various companies including transport companies, the ComputerCenter of the Academy of Sciences of the Russian Federation, and software manufacturers are also engaged in the educational process.

The teachers of the department are the authors of basic textbooks on the following disciplines: statistics, electronic business, differential and difference equations, operations research and optimization methods, innovation management.

Facilities and resources. All classrooms of the Institute of Economics and Finance have multimedia equipment. The classes are given in 16 computer classes and at specialized laboratories 1C, SAP CIS.

Education. Bachelor students of Applied Informatics program are trained in Management Information Technologies for Economic and Social Systems. Training is delivered in accordance with professional IT standards approved by the Ministry of Labor and Social Protection of the Russian Federation.

Strategic partners. The university maintains partnership relations with top vendors of information systems: 1С, Galaktika Pro, SAP CIS, SAS Institute; with the Main Computer Center, the branch of the Russian Railways company; the Roszheldorproekt construction design company; the Digital Economy League, the Federal Center for Project Finance (joint research projects, work placement, internships, further employment).

International projects and programs. The department successfully cooperates with foreign universities and educational companies (Germany, Costa Rica) giving students an opportunity to participate in international educational programs and internships. Students annually take part and win prizes in the All-Russian Student Olympiad in Applied Informatics, in Moscow and interuniversity olympiads in information science, mathematics, physics, economics and management, in business case competitions held by the North-Eastern Administrative District of Moscow and companies such as Deloitte SNG, KPMG, EY – Russia, and others, in the Business-Maximum game championships.

Our students' project for the development of the railway station in Augsburg (Germany) was recognized as the best project by the Government of Swabia.
