Current position in rankings. Gnesins Academy is ranked among Top 100 best Russian HEIs according to Forbes.

Teaching staff. The Producer of Performing Arts program is carried out by PhDs and Doctors of Sciences, leading specialists in the field of musical art and management of Gnesins Academy. Experienced specialists working at production centers, record labels, opera houses, etc. are also engaged in the educational process.

The Academy regularly holds meetings and master classes with authority figures of the modern music industry. In 2019 master classes, lectures and open discussion were held with Dmitry Konnov (Managing Director, Universal Music Russia), Vera Gorbulenko (Marketing Director, United Media Agency), Denis Sharko (General Director, SyncLab) dedicated to the topic “The role of a music producer in advertising, cinema, TV shows. And how much is music really worth?,” as well as Maxim Voroshilov (Director, Business Initiatives & Analytics, Warner Music Russia), Roman Shmargon (Manager of music projects “VKontakte”), and others.

Facilities and resources. The Academy has computer classes, the library and record library, and a reading hall with internet access. The group classrooms and student lounges have a network of electronic information terminals with free access to library collections (educational, scientific, reference literature) as well as audio and video recordings.

Education. Students are actively involved in seminars and roundtable discussions, exhibitions devoted to the development of music industry in Russia and in the world. Gnesins Academy hosts numerous concerts and festivals, students being organizers, masters of ceremonies and performers. In 2019 students took part in diverse projects such as the Golden Mask Festival, the Nutcracker International Television Contest for Young Musicians, the Colisium International Music Forum, WaveForum 2019, and other events. The first producers graduated in June 2017. The alumni of the faculty include celebrities such as Aleksandra Savelyeva, Yulianna Karaulova, Sergei Shirokov, Elizaveta Martynova, Yulia Savicheva, and others.

Strategic partners. The Association of Laureates of the International Tchaikovsky Competition, the Union Studio Record Label, Butman Music Group, the Directorate of the Golden Mask Russian National Theater Award, the Russia-Culture TV channel.

Assistance and support for foreign students and teachers. International students and teaching staff are supported by the Dean’s Office for International Students and the Department of International Relations and Creative Projects.
