Current position in rankings. Gnesins Academy is ranked among Top 100 best Russian HEIs according to Forbes.
Achievements and awards. The program successfully underwent professional-public accreditation (the National Centre for Public Accreditation, 2014).
Students are laureates of prestigious all-Russian and international competitions, holders of scholarships of the Muslim Magomaev Cultural and Musical Heritage Foundation, the Presidential Grants Foundation.
Teaching staff. High-quality training is provided by the highly professional experienced teaching staff of three departments: Solo Voice, 1, Solo Voice, 2, and Opera, including ten Professors, nine Associate Professors, two PhDs, 17 People’s and Honored Artists of the RF, four Honored Art and Cultural Workers of the RF, internationally renowned outstanding singers that perform on the best opera stages of Europe, the USA, and Latin America.
Facilities and resources. 17 specially equipped classrooms for individual and practical classes in special disciplines, computer classes, the library and record library collections, and a reading hall with internet access, eight concert halls fitted with state-of-the-art recording and video equipment that ensures high-quality recording of concerts.
Education. Academic activity is maintained at a high level thanks to creative and concert performance activities. Students regularly attend courses and master classes of well-known voice teachers, singers, conductors, and directors of opera theaters, undertake teaching, performance and research internships.
Research. The departments actively conduct research on vocal studies and pedagogy (A. Naumenko, E. Starodubrovskaya, L. Bomshtein, A. Mochalov, S. Kuznetsova, etc.).
Strategic partners. The State Bolshoi Theater of Russia, the Mariinsky Opera and Ballet Theater, the Helikon-Opera Moscow Musical Theater, the Novaya Opera Theater, the Stanislavsky and Nemirovich-Danchenko Music Theater, the Natalya Sats Children’s Musical Theater, the Galina Vishnevskaya Opera Center, etc.
International projects and programs. Educators participate in international conferences, give concerts and master classes abroad. The Academy implements the Erasmus+ program with Arrigo Boito Conservatory of Parma (Italy), maintains long-term professional relations with Conservatory of Barcelona.
Assistance and support for foreign students and teachers. International students and teaching staff are supported by the Dean’s Office for International Students and the Department of International Relations and Creative Projects.
