Programme presentation. This programme has been carried out at the Faculty sinceˇ1999. Bachelors study two foreign languages, world politics, economics, development specifics of different regions of the world, international law and foreign economic policy.

Students may continue education in the Master’s programme in “History” and “Tourism” and then in the Postgraduate programme “Historical Studies and Archaeology”.

The Department of International Relations is supplied with modern facilities: lecture rooms and computer classrooms with Internet access. The Faculty implements international programmes in academic mobility of teachers and students and maintains cooperation with foreign partners. The Department of Foreign Languages carries out training of translators in the sphere of professional communication.

Teaching staff. Professors and assistant professors with a corresponding research specialization in the sphere of international relations, world politics, economy and ethno-political conflicts are involved in the study process. The Faculty has a scientific school in history of international relations and foreign policy of Russia and foreign countries.

Competitiveness of students. The average grade of students enrolled in this programme according to the USE results is 250 due to its prestige and a high level of education. The Faculty arranges scientific events which help students of international relations to prepare for their future profession (including exchange programmes with foreign HEIs). Students take an active part in research events of different levels: Model UN in MGIMO, School of Young International Relations Expert of the EU Centre in Siberia, annual April Student Conference of the University and others. Two graduates are staff members of the RF MFA, three students graduated from the Master’s programme in MGIMO and the Higher School of Economics.

Interaction with employers. Graduates of this programme are in high demand in the labour market. Bachelors with second-language skills can work in the administration of different levels in positions which require a relevant education, in tourism business, in enterprises and institutions of all forms of ownership in the sphere of international and interregional cooperation (as consulting experts, researchers-translators, workers of inter-national departments) and in the teaching profession.
