HEI’s image. Higher education at TransbaikalStateUniversity complies with international quality standards. The University is a contemporary competitive HEI, which is on its way to become one of the leading national educational institutions in fundamental and applied research in the field of technical, natural and humanitarian sciences. The University preserves and develops best traditions of the Russian higher school.

Programme presentation. Six faculties of the University implement 30 bachelor’s and 20 master’s programmes within the framework of the specialty “Pedagogical Education”. The study programme “Geographical Education” has passed independent external review, which was conducted by the Agency of Quality Assurance in Higher Education and Career Development.

TransbaikalStateUniversity is equipped with necessary material and technical resources: academic process is conducted in classrooms, which are supplied with projection equipment, interactive whiteboards and Internet access. The computer classrooms and methodological offices are completely equipped. The University has in place laboratories of education development.

In order to deliver training of the highest quality the University also implements innovative educational technologies, active forms and methods of teaching.

Teaching staff. The programmes’ implementation is provided by highly-qualified teaching staff: Doctors of Sciences and PhDs, teachers, who are awarded the state honorary titles. Foreign teachers also work at the University. The University’s employees undergo externship and teach in foreign HEIs.

Competitiveness of students. Students, who are planning to work in the sphere of education, conduct research activity and present the results of their scientific work at re-search conferences and in peer-reviewed journals. Students annually undergo externship and academic practices in the HEIs of Russia, Mongolia and China. The programme of academic exchange with QiqiharUniversity (People’s Republic of China) gives students the opportunity to study in the partner-HEI for one year free of charge.

Interaction with employers. Representatives of employers participate in designing and implementing educational programmes and evaluating the quality of training. Annually labour market’s demand for teachers is 20% higher than the number of the University’s graduates.
