Programme presentation. In the framework of the study programme “Vocal Art” the Vocal Faculty of Russian Gnessin’s Academy of Music trains bachelors of the profile “Academic Singing”. Graduates of the programme are competent in musical performance – as performers of solo, ensemble and choir voice parts; musical pedagogics – as teachers of specialized secondary and higher educational institutions. Graduates also work in the administration sphere as leaders of creativity groups and in the sphere of education – popularization of musical art and culture.

Teaching staff. The educational process of the special educational disciplines’ cycle is implemented by three departments: Department of Solo Singing No.1, Department of Solo Singing No.2 and the Department of Opera Training. The highest training quality is provided by highly-qualified specialists of vocal art. The teaching staff includes 9 professors, 11 assistant-professors, 2 PhDs, 19 People’s and Honored Artists of the Russian Federation, four Honored Workers of Art and Workers of Culture of the Russian Federation.

Competitiveness of students. During the last two years over 60 students of the Vocal Faculty won national and international musical competitions and festivals. Bachelor students conduct concert performance activity; participate in public concerts, educational and charitable events. Students acquire valuable experience of stage performance in the framework of specialized disciplines of the chosen profile. Best students participate in master-classes in conservatories of France and Italy.

The students of the Vocal Faculty have a unique opportunity to acquire professional skills of opera singers. The opportunity is provided by the opera theatrical studio of Russian Gnessin’s Academy of Music, which does over 30 opera performances annually. Highly proficient conductors, stage directors, ballet masters participate in the work of the theatrical studio.

Interaction with employers. Graduates have an opportunity to be employed by partner organizations. The list of organizations, which signed partnership agreements with the Academy includes Moscow State Musical Theatre “Helikon-Opera”, the Academic Song and Dance Ensemble of Interior Troops of the Interior Ministry of the Russian Federation, V.A. Sudakov Moscow State Concert Theatrical Choir. 12 graduates of the last 5 years work in musical theatres of Germany, France and Italy.
