Awards and achievements. The programs underwent state accreditation in 2015.

Teaching staff. The teaching staff includes ten Doctors of Science (one Academician of the RussianAcademy of Sciences, one Honored Worker of Science of the Russian Federation, one Honored Worker of Higher Education of the Russian Federation, three laureates of the Russian Federation Government Award in Science and Technology), 36 Candidates of Sciences.

Facilities and resources. The university has state-of-the-art devices for express analysis of food raw material composition and properties, high-performance liquid chromatography, microscopy and microcomputer tomography, spectrophotometry, cryoscopy, refractometry as well as pilot plants for baro- and electro-membrane fractionation of food raw material and biological objects.

Research. The following research areas are developed:

• physicochemical basics, production technology of lactose and its derivatives;

• new-generation biotechnology of dairy products, natural and fermented beverages;

• new production technologies of meat and dairy products for specialized and functional nutrition;

• resource saving and environmentally friendly state-of-the-art production technologies for products including non-perishable foods.

Education. The teachers use such interactive teaching methods as a visualization lecture, a case study lecture, a problematic lecture, a lecture with preplanned mistakes.

Strategic partners. The university cooperates with BelarusianStateUniversity, University of Ljubljana, University of Milan (Italy), all-Russian research institutes of production and processing of meat and dairy products, the Technical University of Munich (Germany), AgroParisTechUniversity (France), the University of Reading (UK), Stavropol Dairy Plant.

International projects and programs. The university participates in the Erasmus MUNDUS, Erasmus + Credit Mobility programs, internal grants of NCFU, international projects with the participation of partner universities.

Competitive advantages. The results of research conducted by the NCFU leading scientific school using unique scientific equipment: INTEGRA Spectra, Dionex ICS-5000 ion chromatograph, Nicolet 6700 Thermo Scientific IR-Fourier spectrometer, etc. are introduced in the educational process.

Students have an opportunity to follow the continuing education path: Master's program – postgraduate studies –doctoral studies, individual educational paths as part of academic mobility programs and scientific internships and study placements at the premises of leading Russian and foreign educational and research institutions and engineering centers.
