Awards and achievements. The university staff members are winners of the All-Russian contest “Golden Names of Higher School,” the competition to get grants from the Russian President for state support of young scientists – PhD-s, the UMNIK – Healthnet contest, participants of the Fulbright program for university graduates and PhD students. For several years students have become prize winners of the All-Russian Olympiad “I am Professional.”
Teaching staff. The academic degree holders ratio is 78.1% (12 Sc.D-s, ten Professors).
Facilities and resources. The educational program is delivered by 15 university departments, the university's practical psychology center. Psychological instruments, including biofeedback devices, are used. Students undertake internships at medical institutions, educational organizations, psychological and social rehabilitation centers, security ministries and agencies.
Research. The key research area is the development of personality as a subject of life activity. Research is conducted in the following areas: the psychology of health-saving activities, psychological foundations for developing mental and psychosomatic disorders and their psychocorrection as well as molecular and cytogenetic aspects of mental and neurological disorders.
Education. Teachers use modern teaching strategies: problem-based and interactive lectures, video training sessions, business games, distance education elements.
Strategic partners. The university cooperates with the top medical universities of Russia, the International Academy of Psychological Sciences, the Russian Psychological Society, the European Association for Transactional Analysis, the East European Psychosomatic Society, the Association for Cognitive and Behavioral Psychotherapy, non-governmental and non-commercial organizations of Russia and non-CIS countries.
International projects and programs. As part of the educational program, the university holds the Annual International Conference of Students and Young Scientists “Psychology and Medicine: in Search of Optimal Interaction” with the participation of leading specialists from Israel, Great Britain, Sweden.
Competitive advantages. A harmony of basic academic training and acquisition of practical skills in psychodiagnostics, psychotherapy, and psychocorrection is aimed at training highly qualified clinical psychologists that are in high demand in all areas of professional practice.
