Achievements. The university implements the regional medical and social project on early diagnosis and prevention of visible malignancies in elderly people staying at social service institutions in the Sverdlovsk Region.
Teaching staff. 97% of teachers have academic degrees. Over 15% are Doctors of Sciences. Chief specialists, heads of major healthcare institutions in Yekaterinburg, the Sverdlovsk Region, in the Urals region, leading scientists from Kazakhstan are engaged in the teaching process.
Facilities and resources. The faculty applies synchronous and/or asynchronous E-learning technologies.
A specialized computer classroom is equipped with a flipbox (multifunctional display), there is a virtual campus. Simulation technologies are used. There are phantom classrooms and the Praktika educational and scientific center with specialized software. The department classrooms are located, in particular, at clinical facilities of medical and rehabilitation institutions in the Sverdlovsk Region.
Research. Teachers participate in international conferences, study current issues in theory and methodology of professional training in the field of higher nursing education, development of methodological support for students’ educational internships and work placements.
Education. Teachers use project and research methods of teaching, distance learning technologies, simulation technologies. The university created an organizational and pedagogical environment for developing students' research skills and inclusive culture.
Strategic partners. Research is conducted to benefit practical medicine in cooperation with the institutions and universities in the Urals region. The Ministry of Healthcare of the Sverdlovsk Region, Sverdlovsk Regional Clinical Hospital № 1, the Palliative Care Center, and other institutions.
Competitive advantages. The program allows students to get a higher education following an individual learning path within a shorter period based on secondary vocational education.
Graduates can pursue a Master’s degree in Public Health.
Assistance and support for international students and teachers. USMU participates in international cooperation programs, accepts students and PhD students for study placements and internships.
