Achievements. Professional-public accreditation certificate №024/18 of March 12, 2018, issued by the Medical League of Russia.
Teaching staff. The program is delivered by the highly qualified teaching staff of 40 departments. 181 teachers out of 269 have academic degrees or titles, including 44 Doctors of Sciences degrees. Among them are board-certified doctors, Excellent Workers of Public Health, Excellent Workers of the sanitary and epidemiological service, laureates of the Russian Federation Government Award, Honored Science Workers of the RF, Honored Physicians of the RF.
Facilities and resources. The faculty has a sufficient number of facilities and resources, teaching and learning materials, necessary licensed software, and the electronic library system.
Students undertake work placements at the medical treatment and preventive care institutions that are part of the university's clinical facilities, but the main facility is the Territorial Directorate of the Russian Federal Service for Surveillance on Consumer Rights Protection and Human Wellbeing and the Center for Hygiene and Epidemiology in the Voronezh Region. The laboratory center comprises 11 different laboratories and a vivarium. The laboratories have modern equipment and comply with international requirements. Research is performed using rather sophisticated physicochemical, toxicological, virological methods.
Research. VSMU has scientific schools developing up-to-date research areas related to preventive medicine. The university carries out multidisciplinary and comprehensive research. Research is performed in the field of assessing the risks of the health impact of environmental factors, ensuring population safety, prevention and treatment of numerous diseases, patient rehabilitation, etc. Methods of chromatography, spectrometry, atomic absorption spectrophotometry, polymerase chain reaction, etc. are used to assess environmental factors. Teachers participate in international congresses and conferences, develop state-of-the-art technologies, organize field advanced courses for doctors.
Education. Teaching methods include multimedia technologies, business games, audio- and video recordings, video filming with subsequent demonstration and analytical review.
Strategic partners. The university maintains cluster cooperation with the Faculty of Preventive Medicine of Ryazan State Medical University named after academician I.P. Pavlov, I.M. Sechenov First Moscow State Medical University, and Yaroslavl State Medical University.
