Achievements. The program has been recognized as the best by the Medical League of Russia since 2011. In 2020, the faculty got the Russian President grant for state support of Russian scientific schools and two Russian President grants for state support of young Russian researchers – candidates of sciences.
Teaching staff. The program is delivered by 46 departments in 82 disciplines. The academic degree holders ratio is over 70%, 43 teachers hold an academic degree of Doctor of Sciences, and 132 are Candidates of Sciences. Thirty-seven teachers are Professors, and 51 are Associate Professors. The faculty employs ten Honored Physicians, two Honored Inventors of the RF, nine Excellent Worker of Public Health, three Honored Workers of Higher Education of the RF, 12 staff members are corresponding members and academicians of civic academies. The teaching staff's average age is 45.6.
Facilities and resources. The leading healthcare organizations in Voronezh and the region are the university's clinical facilities. State-of-the-art simulation technologies are used at the multidisciplinary accreditation and simulation center. There is a well-developed system of interactive communication in the university's electronic educational environment (Moodle and Webinar platforms).
Research. The faculty members have organized and held 88 research and practice events, including ten international events. Twenty-five authorship certificates for databases and computer programs, 21 patents for inventions have been obtained. The Student Scientific Society Council of VSMU named after N.N. Burdenko was shortlisted for the final stage of the Russian National Award "Student of the Year – 2020" of higher education institutions in the category The Best Student Scientific Society of the Year.
Education. Teachers use novel educational models and technologies: problem-based techniques for giving lectures and performing seminars, group consultations, project activities, press conferences, etc.
Strategic partners. The educational organizations of the East-European Research and Education Medical Cluster.
International projects and programs. The university carries out its international activities in three areas: research and practice cooperation, training of specialists for foreign countries, cooperation with international organizations, foundations and programs. The university cooperates with the medical faculty of the Humboldt University of Berlin, Charité University Clinic (Germany), Martin Luther University Halle-Wittenberg (Germany), Çukurova University in Adana (Turkey), Varna Medical University (Bulgaria), Harbin Medical University (China).
