Achievements. Since 2014 the program has been ranked among the Best Educational Programs of Innovative Russia.
In 2020, the academic staff co-authored the national guideline General Medical Practice in two volumes, the clinical practice guideline Community-acquired Pneumonia in Children, the clinical guidelines Tuberculosis in Children.
Teaching staff. Training is provided by 65 teachers, including two Corresponding Members of the RAS, one Honored Science Worker of the RF, two Honored Workers of Higher Education of the RF. Over 15% are Doctors of Sciences.
Facilities and resources. The multidisciplinary accreditation and simulation center, the electronic information and educational environment.
Research. Personalized medicine with the development of methods of prevention, treatment, prognosis of outcomes of pathological conditions and childhood diseases, pediatric nutrition science, regenerative medicine, pediatric cardiology, phthisiopediatrics, etc.
Education. Teachers use state-of-the-art educational technologies, including the point rating system, simulation equipment, digitalization of the educational process. The university has introduced an interdisciplinary cross-cutting modular path – professional communication and communicative technologies, CPE programs – Physician Researcher, Cell Technology Operator, Physician Manager. Graduates develop their professional and supra-professional competencies by studying at specialized departments, taking part in research conferences and competitions, Olympiads, UMNIK and START grant programs.
Strategic partners. Medical universities of the Ural Research and Education Medical Cluster, the BONUM Research and Practical Medical Center, the Ural Biomedical Cluster Non-Commercial Partnership.
International projects and programs. Joint degree programs, teaching as part of the international visiting professor program in Uzbekistan (Namangan State University) and Kazakhstan (West Kazakhstan Marat Ospanov State Medical University), student internships at foreign clinics as part of the IFMSA program.
Assistance and support for international students and teachers. Since 2008 international students have been undertaking summer internships at the university's clinical facilities. Since 2018 the faculty has been enrolling students from Cameroon, Morocco, Egypt, Palestine, Nigeria. Information for international applicants is available at www.usma.ru/en.
