Awards and achievements. The program successfully underwent state accreditation in 2018 and professional-public accreditation carried out by the Leningrad Region Chamber of Commerce and Industry in 2020. Every year students get the Russian President and Government scholarships, speak at international conferences, have honorary diplomas from the International Society of Automation ISA (2019).

Teaching staff. The degree-granting department employs six Doctors of Sciences, Professors and ten Candidates of Sciences, Associate Professors. All the Master's degree teachers have academic degrees. 70% of the Bachelor's program teachers have academic degrees. The teaching staff includes four laureates of the Russian Government Award and the Saint Petersburg Government Award, Professor B. Sokolov, one of the authors of the theory of proactive control of complex technical objects, Professor Iu. Skobtsov, a well-known specialist in evolutionary computations. Heads and leading specialists of the real sector of the economy are engaged in the teaching process. Teachers win competitions for the best fundamental research projects, get RFBR grants (2017 - 2020).

Facilities and resources. Three classrooms with state-of-the-art computer technology and multimedia equipment, a specialized learning laboratory of embedded systems.

Research. Under the agreements with Roscosmos (the Russian Federal Space Agency), the university conducts R&D to design software for space object monitoring systems. The RFBR projects are implemented. The research findings were published in four monographs. Students take an active part in all R&D.

Strategic partners. The university cooperates with research, educational and industrial organizations focusing mostly on designing software for solving the tasks related to missile and space systems. These are St. Petersburg Federal Research Center of the Russian Academy of Sciences, the Orion special design office, the Arsenal design office, the Federal Research and Production Center Granit Electron, etc.

Competitive advantages. The programs focus on software design technologies using a modern software engineering methodology facilitating graduates' adaptation to working at various enterprises. The effectiveness of this approach is confirmed by the analysis of the performance of graduates holding key positions at major companies focusing on the industrial development of software.

Assistance and support for international students and teachers. The degree-granting department has developed an educational program for international students. International students affairs are coordinated by the Department of International Affairs.
