Programme presentation. Graduates of this educational programme are prepared to carry out professional activities in different spheres of science and production. Knowledge of mechanical engineering technologies allow them to deal with matters related to machine designing, production and maintenance as well as industrial economics and engineering. Specialists provide effective maintenance of technical processes of mechanical engineering, technique tools, automation, control and monitoring systems, product diagnostics and testing and marketing research.

Education of NSTU students is supported by modern technological equipment with the use of advanced CAD/CAM/CAE systems of the leading world companies: KOMPAS-3D, KOMPAS-Graphic VERTIKAL (Russia), Power Shape, Power Mill, Art CAM (UK); Solid Works (USA); SysWeld (France). The material support of research laboratories “Plasma coating”, “Modern metal-working equipment” and research centre “Laser and plasma technologies” is provided at the highest level.

Teaching staff. The teaching staff of the graduate department comprises 1 Doctor of Engineering, 2 professors and 12 Candidates of Engineering. Teachers constantly undertake internships in Russian leading HEIs as well as abroad particularly at the Universities of Hannover and Siegen (Germany), Turin (Italy), Helsinki and Turku (Finland), Warsaw, Kraków and other cities of Poland, The Harbin Institute of Technology (China).

Interaction with employers. Major employers for graduates of this educational programme are “Sever” Construction Company, JSC “Novosibirsk Tool Plant”, JSC “Siblitma”, the branch of The Institute of Theoretical and Applied Mechanics SB RAS «Opytnyzavod», JSC “Novosibirsk StrelochnyZavod”, JSC “Novosibirsk Aircraft Production Association named after V.P. Chkalov” and many others. Annual employment of graduates is 100%. Some graduates of the Department are part of top management of large companies of Novosibirsk such as The Institute of Semiconductor Physics and PJSC “Tyazhstankohydropress”.
