Programme presentation. The study programme “Automobiles and Tractors” trains engineering designers of automobiles and vehicle components, test persons, specialists in automobile design, designing machines for special purposes, specialists in technology and organization of automobile production, trading automobiles and vehicle components. Training is carried out in the University and at the basic Department “Manufacturing of Automobile Products” at the Engineering Centre GAZ-Group, Centre of European Educational Technologies “Eurotech”, automobile diagnostic laboratories, laboratories of strain gauging measurement and vibrometry, the common use centre “Transport Systems”. There is a students’ design bureau “Formula Student”, engineering centre of transport systems “NILT”, centre of traffic safety and technical expertise, research laboratory of transport machines and complexes, competency centre MSC.Software. Training is performed with the help of the software used by industrial partners. The Department cooperates with the leading research schools of automobile production – Federal State Unitary Enterprise “NAMI”, BaumanMoscowStateTechnicalUniversity, Moscow State University of mechanical Engineering and Moscow State Automobile and RoadTechnicalUniversity. The University regularly holds international research seminars and practical trainings in the company, which produces brake systems Knorr-Bremse, Netherlands National Aerospace Laboratory NLR, Technical University of Eindhoven.

Teaching staff. Teaching is performed by experienced teachers, recognized experts in automobile engineering (Professors, Doctors of Sciences L. Orlov, L. Barakhtanov, V. Kravets, V. Belyakov; Candidates of Sciences A. Tumasov, A. Blokhin, V. Makarov, K. Leliovsky and others) and young members of the staff under 30 years of age (D. Zezyulin,S. Bagichev, A. Vashurin, P. Rogov, A. Gerasin).

Competitiveness of students. The average passing grade for the Programme’s applicants is 186. Best students regularly participate in national Olympiads and international research conferences. In 2014, the University’s team won the first place at XI National Students’ Olympiad “Automobile and Tractor engineering”; the Department’s students took part in international conferences FISITA and AAI.
