Programme presentation. The educational process in this area of training is carried out within six profiles: “Communication Networks and Switching Systems”, “Multichannel Communication Systems”, “Optical Systems and Communication Networks”, “Mobile Communication Systems”, “Digital Broadcasting” and “Systems of Radio Communication and Radio Access”. Objects of Bachelors’ professional activity are technological systems and technical tools which ensure reliable and quality transmission, reception, processing and storage of various signals via wire, radio and optical systems.

Graduates can develop their skills in the Master’s programme “Information and Communication Technologies and Communication Systems” and Postgraduate programme “Telecommunication Systems, Networks and Facilities”.

Teaching staff. The teachers of the Faculty are distinguished by professionalism, extensive experience in research and high qualification. Among them are V.Bakalov, Doctor of Technical Sciences, professor, Honoured worker of communication of the Russian Federation; V. Shuvalov, Doctor of Technical Sciences, professor, Academician of International Informatization Academy and V.Lebedyantsev, Doctor of Technical Sciences, professor. V.Fokin, assistant professor underwent internships at communication companies of Italy, Germany and Great Britain. V. Malinkin, professor, is the author of a number of inventions and monographs and has a title “Master of Communication”.

Competitiveness of students. Students regularly take part in various contests, e.g. Alkatel-Lucent Olympiad, and participate in exchange programmes in foreign HEIs: Lulea University of Technology (Sweden), Higher School of Telecommunication (Germany), Anhalt University of Applied Sciences (Germany), Polytechnic University of Valencia (Italy) and S. Seifullin Kazakh Agro Technical University (Kazakhstan).

Interaction with employers. The demand for graduates in this Programme is high in the Siberian and Far Eastern Federal Districts. Specialists have an opportunity to get a job in such companies as Rostelekom, JSC “Giprosvyaz-Sibir”, Megafon, JSC “Mobile TeleSystems”, JSC “Vympelkom”, LLC “Elteks”, the Ministry of Internal A airs of the Russian Federation, banking structures, federal taxation services, etc.
